Training You Can Trust

Picture
The professionals of The Master Inspection Group offer our clients the very best service made possible by the best training available.  We take our business seriously enough to travel the country attending specialized training events and meeting the worlds foremost authorities in home and commercial related services.  Building inspections, diagnostics and forensic investigations involve continuous and extensive training, equipment, and experience.  A thorough understanding of building science, construction, materials, codes, environmental conditions, failure rates, insulating materials, moisture intrusion, vapor diffusion, and general building science is required to accurately diagnose difficult building conditions. The professionals at Tennessee Building Inspections have extensive training in all these areas and a track record of over twenty five years experience using these skills.

Building Analyst Training

Building Analyst Standards emphasize the 'house-as-a-system' approach to inspecting a home or building, meaning that all systems are interconnected from the HVAC equipment, to the envelope, the foundation, walls, roof, doors and windows. With infrared we also use diagnostic equipment such as the blower door and the combustion analyzer to ensure systems are functioning together correctly to maximize building performance, comfort, energy efficiency, safety and durability. A building inspector and energy auditor certification gives property owners peace of mind knowing the professional meets the national standards of the Department of Energy.

Certified Stucco Inspector and Moisture Analyst Trained

Exterior Design Institute is a non-profit organization founded for the purpose of training and certifying Building Envelope and EIFS Inspectors and Moisture Analysts to promote quality control within the construction industry.
Level 1 Certified Infrared Thermographer -  Infraspection Institute
Infrared Certified Building Thermographer - InterNACHI

Since 1980, Infraspection Institute has provided training, certification, and support services for thousands of thermographers worldwide. We offer our clients Two Infrared Certified Inspectors with the best level of training and experience in the area. Phil Henderson has done over 900 infrared / thermal imaging inspections. The Infrared Certified Program was developed by InterNACHI (Internation Association of Certified Home Inspectors) specifically for the training of home and building diagnostics. When we took the course it was the only one dedicated to complete training for conditions found in the course of a home inspection and commercial application. Home and Building Inspectors have a specific understanding of the many conditions that can exist within a structure and are better equipped to use the infrared technology as an extension of their profession. It's much easier for a home/building inspector to learn thermal imaging than it is for a thermal imaging student to learn home and building inspections. WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US

Phil Henderson and his team do a great job in providing thorough building inspections.  They  recently inspected a home that I have under contract to purchase and the service was excellent.  Additionally, Phil completed inspections on 3 commercial properties for a client of mine and everything went very well.  The client was very happy and the work was completed in a timely manner.

I would highly recommend Phil for anyone needing great service and quality work.

Dear Phil,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how pleased my husband and I were with your services. When we found ourselves in need of an inspection service to work  with we pulled from several sources; real estate agent, personal references, the internet and the social pages. After we contacted your company we were pleased to find not only did you have over 27 years of inspection experience, but that you could accommodate the unusual hours that we preferred. We really appreciate the information you exchanged with us on site during the inspection. Your attention to detail was excellent ! We also appreciated your suggestions of how we could possibly resolve problems. If we are ever in need of inspection services or have any recommendations solicited from us we will be sure to send them your way.

Thanks again,
Krista McCampbell

I know Phil both personally and professionally and turn to no other company when I need commercial building inspections. Shanks Properties has been in business over 15 years and invests $2-3 million annually in the local real estate market and we TRUST Phil and company to assist us in those investment decisions. He is my one and only referral when asked about building inspectors, both residential and commercial

Summary: A+ work, A+ value, A+ guy

Phil Henderson and staff inspected a property on 4/18/16 that I am in the process of purchasing. They arrived 15 minutes early in a clean and professional looking van and was well dressed himself. Phil was friendly and sociable from the start. I chose to be present during the inspection and am very happy I did. The inspection began with them walking the roof and inspecting the exterior of the property. Next  they got out the drone and took aerial pictures of the roof and property. They had already found issues with the roof within the first 15 minutes. The inspection then moved inside where they meticulously inspected and photographed the entire house including the attic and crawl spaces. I chose to have the thermal imaging done during my inspection which uncovered that one of the walls had no insulation in it! The amount of information gathered from the thermal imaging was incredible. They showed me how he measured the AC inlet and outlet temperatures and could check for AC leaks with the thermal. I could go on and on about the thermal but for brevity sake I will say that I think it was worth every penny. From start to finish they were there for approx. 3 hours. They discovered multiple issues that I was unaware of and provided picture documentation of all of them. I chose to have Phil and his staff to  inspect my future home because I heard he was a good, honest guy that did quality work and am happy to report that all of these are true. I am thankful for the great work Phil's staff did and am confident that I know the true condition of the home I am purchasing. I asked Phil for multiple business cards before he left because I will be emphatically recommending him to everyone I know.

"We first met Phil Henderson and staff when we commissioned Tennessee  Building Inspections to inspect a seemingly great investment, commercial property in 2016.  They  uncovered some hidden structural flaws and we have saved ourselves from potentially a very bad investment.  Since then, we've worked with Phil on four properties, which we successfully closed on with assurance for the strength of each investment that we could not have gauged without Phil's reports & input.  Each time, we were met with the same professionalism, enthusiasm, and individualized attention.  They understand that time is of the essence in all real estate transactions and is timely with both scheduling the inspection and producing the report.  His staff  are equipped with the latest technologies , though they are not afraid to get their hands dirty too, climbing and crawling into spaces that isn't visible off the street; we never question whether an item has been left unchecked.  With each inspection, Phil has personally followed up with us to go over the report and to answer our questions.  We are very grateful for his thorough, candid perspective, and look to no one else!"

As an instructor at Pellissippi State I taught several of the courses offered for the Building Performance Analyst Certification.  I cannot express enough the insight and knowledge Mr. Henderson provided to our class concerning structural and mechanical aspects of a building.  Mr. Henderson scored perfectly in all areas of building science during the two week training course work and was my highest level performer in the field test.
